Welcome to SBtosh, a little corner of the internet for things I’ve made, things I’m making, and things I’m still figuring out.
This is a collection of apps, experiments, design concepts and ideas I’ve worked on over time. Some are finished, some are very much works in progress, and some are simply thought experiments that became interesting enough to build.
Feel free to open things, explore them and use whatever you find useful.
The site itself is part of the experiment. Rather than another grid of project cards, everything lives inside a Macintosh-inspired desktop. Partly because it seemed more fun, and partly because I have a soft spot for old Apple computers.
Enzo Alerts started as a simple way of making alerts and updates easier to follow.
It has evolved through a few different versions over the years, but the basic idea remains the same: take information that might otherwise get missed and present it in a simple, useful way.
It’s one of the older projects here, and one I keep coming back to.
The Apple Museum is my attempt to slowly build and document a collection of some of my favourite products from Apple’s history.
It includes products I’ve owned, products I’ve always admired, important milestones in personal computing, and objects that I simply think are exceptional pieces of industrial design.
The idea isn’t to collect everything Apple has ever made. It’s to chart a more personal history of a company that, in my opinion, has produced some of the most influential and memorable technology of the last several decades.
The collection is still growing. As I find, restore and add new devices, the museum will grow with it.
Think of it as an evolving archive of Macintosh, iPod, iPhone and everything in between.
SB Pod started when I found one of my old iPods.
I charged it, loaded it up again and was surprised by how much I enjoyed using it. There was something strangely refreshing about having a device that did one thing: play music.
No notifications. No feeds. No endless choice waiting one tap away.
Using an iPod also makes listening slightly less instantaneous. Your library is finite. Things have to be synced. You scroll through albums and artists. You sometimes listen to whatever comes next rather than immediately searching for something else.
In a world where almost every song ever recorded is available instantly, I found myself liking those limitations.
So I wanted to recreate some of that experience with the music library I already use.
I connected the idea to Spotify, wrapped it in an interface inspired by the iPod, and called it SB Pod.
It’s less about recreating an old device perfectly and more about recreating a feeling: a simpler, more deliberate way of listening to music.
SBtosh will keep changing as I make new things, revisit old ideas and occasionally turn questionable thoughts into working software.
